Get to Know Our Club
Kingston Aikikai is an Aikido Club in Kingston, Ontario. We are a not-for-profit organization dedicated to practicing Aikikai Aikido. We are a member of the Ontario Aikido Federation (OAF) and the Canadian Aikido Federation (CAF).
We offer classes three days a week for adults and teenagers (15+).
Fees are primarily used to pay for our location. Other uses of the club funds include bringing in visiting instructors and paying CAF membership.
Our instructors volunteer their time and are not paid.

Meet Our Instructors
Esteban Ricalde
Esteban's Aikido journey began in 1993 in his hometown (Xalapa, Mexico), and has trained continuously for more than three decades in Mexico and Canada.
He is the founder and head instructor of Kingston Aikikai.
Esteban has taught both children's and adult classes, giving him experience working with students across different ages and stages of development.
He has had the opportunity to study under the guidance of a broad range of sensei, including Emiliano Perez, Yutaka Kurita, Marta Fernandez, Yukio Kawahara, Ivan Booth, Michelle Lapointe, Marcel Lavigne, Yumi Nakamura, and Hayato Osawa Shihan.
Learning from different sensei, traditions, and approaches to practice has been an important part of his own development as an instructor and continues to shape how he approaches both teaching and his Aikido practice.
He tested for Yondan (4th-degree black belt) with Osawa Shihan in the Canadian Aikido Federation Summer Camp at Calgary in 2023.
Bianca Dauber
Bianca practiced aikido in Germany from 1997 to 2008 under Katsuaki Asai, the technical director of Aikikai Germany and direct student of O-Sensei Morihei Ueshiba. After all these years, Asai Shihan still has a strong impact on her aikido. She also draws inspiration from Tsuruzo Miyamoto Shihan, a frequent guest instructor at summer camps in Germany.
Since 2008 she has been calling Canada her home. After training in Edmonton under Bill Heron for two years she took a break from aikido to prioritize her young family and her job in medical research. After another break due to covid lock-down and moving to Kingston, she is super excited to be back on the mat with Esteban sensei and the incredible folks of Aikikai Kingston. Bianca loves going to seminars to learn from the amazing instructors from all over Canada and tries to catch every opportunity to train under Hayato Osawa Shihan from Hombu Dojo. She currently holds the rank of Nidan (2nd degree black belt). When she is not on the mat, she is practicing QiGong, cooking, hiking and hanging out with her family.
Our Fees
Per Month Fee: $80
Fees can be paid by electronic transfer, cash or cheque
Fees are due on the first day of the month and will be considered overdue 5 days after the first class.
